Canterbury's second wife-Jennie to E Damrell Dear Granma since my mairage with Mr. Canterbury I have read your letters with much interest. your last long letter to him called forth all of my sympathy for I have a great love & Reverence for age. my Husband has always spoken so highly of you. he has learned me to think of you & we often talk of you. My merried life with Mr. Canterbury has been a very happy one so far as he could make it so far. Several months past my health has been miserable & I have been discouraged. I have but two children. both girls. the oldest is eighteen, the youngest who is with me is sixteen. Many is the heart eachs I have about them. three years since I saw the oldest. I left her with one of my sisters. She had no children of her own & I gave her one of mine. I suppose Mr. Canterbury has written all of the news concerning his family. the girls both have good men and live so near. they can visit each other. Alice as a big healty boy. Eliza baby does not look so well. I think Eliza is a Noble woman. well I suppose you know as well what my good man is as I can tel you he is always good to me & we are a happy old couple always plenty of company for each other yet love our firnds. He sayes he intends to go to Texas and then we will visit you. I shall be glad to have him go this comeing summer.
