Norton to E Damrell Dear Grandma We received your ever welcome letter several days ago, but I had not time to answer it, We had a brick mason a building a Chimney to our house. I have so much work to do I can not get time to write only on Sundays. We are all well at this time excepting colds. I hope these lines may find you well. My great desire is to see you once more while you live. Bud and Milton is here today Milton is working for a man 2 miles from here. Bud does not work any, he some times talks vary wild and says the Goverment ows him a living and he is not a going to work. he has got 160 acres of of land and it Paid for. But he has not mind enough to tend to his Business. Pa does it for him. Well, Grand Ma, Pa is close by and read your letter and said he would write to you. Pa lives in Winters. Alice and her Husban lives on our place also. she said she would write to you. they are all well. Pa talks like he will go to see you in the spring. We have had two rains this fall every thing is green and looks like spring. John has sold his wheat. It brought him over four thousand & three hundred dollars. today is Sunday Pa & Ma will be here to night. Andrew is still in Humbolt County. it will soon be two years since I saw him. The ground is wet enough to Plow and every body puting their crops. We have such a good Market for ever thing. here Butter is worth 40 cents for pound eggs 40 cts per dozzen. Turkeys 15 cts per pound. all kinds of Poultry is ready sale. you must excuse this short letter. it geting late. I want to send our Picture to you before long. I will not wait for an answer but will write and send them. My baby is 8 months old. he try to clime up. he has 4 teeth. I have never had the baby Picture take yet. I will send you all of our family. I dont know wheath you can read this or not. my ink is so bad. I will close this time with the hope that I will get to see you once more while we live. I have so many thousand things that I could tell you that is to tedious to write. Give our live to all enquiring friends and a large share for your self.
