Dear Grand Ma        
I sit down to write you a few lines to let you know that I will soon start on 
my visit to see you and my dear friends.  I will start the 13 of August if 
nothing happends.  I have got a lady to keep house for me. I got here 
yesterday.                  
I will leave home on Tuesday the 18.  I will send you a postal card when I 
leave Sacrimento City.  I will come to Milan on the cars, it will take me 
perhaps 8 days to come.  I will come on the emigrant train for I dont want to 
come so fast.  Sammie is comeing with me.  the other children I will leave at 
home.                   
I was at Pas yesterday.  they are all well.  I was to see Alice today she is 
not vary well.  the rest of her family is well.  Brother Milton is there.  Bud 
is with us.              
this leaves us all well and hope to see you soon.  no more this time.  I can 
tell you more than I can write.  good by  Elize E. Norton
excuse this short letter it is geting late.  tell Uncle Ning that I want him 
have a good ready to take us around visiting as it may be the last time that I 
will ever come so far
