Miller to Lyman C. Draper, October 5, 1883 Draper Manuscripts, 20C62 Transcribed from microfilm copy of the original document from the Draper Manuscripts Collection of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, Madison, WI. Spelling and punctuation are as they appear in the original text. Transcriber’s notes in {} * * * * * {On letterhead that reads as follows} Established in 1869 -- Geo. J. Miller -- Dealer in -- Groceries, Dry Goods, Hardware, Implements, Boots, Shoes, Caps and Notions La Cygne, Kan., October 5th, 1883 L C Draper Esq Dear Sir After considering your questions I can only state from recollection about the death of Grand Ma Miller. I am satisfied it was in 1826. That year Samuel Millers sons moved to Missouri, is why I feel certain she died that year. I cant say as to her age certain, I often visited her and she was very old & feeble. I should think all of 85. I am really ___ped that Aunt Nancy Cameron, was the first born. I have always thought so, I do not know when she died. She died without issue. I feel satisfied that Col. Boone and Grand Ma Miller were first cousins, never having heard him & Grand Father, were related, only by marriage. Please excuse delay in answering. I am always at your pleasure in imparting any information I may have or can get, about my ancestors. Having left home when very young, I thought very little about P__ who had crossed the River. Yours truly, H. C. Miller, Sr.
