CHARLES M. LATSHAW, a well known resident of Bicknell & a former Sullivan Coounty resident, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in
Vincennes Sunday after an illness of only 4 days. Latshaw formerly lived at Hymera, where he was proprietor of a barber shop and laundry
business. Several years ago he moved to Bicknell & started a barber business, but a few years ago accepted a position as oil inspector & was
making a remarkable record in this work. Last Wed. he complained of feeling ill and went to consult a physician, thinking his case was one of
indigestion. His wife, Mrs. Pearl Latshaw was in Chicago Attending the millinery show; an opening medical examination showed that
Latshaw had an acute attack of appendicitis and Mrs. Latshaw was notified and hurried to his bedside. He was taken to the hospital Friday and
underwent an emergrncy operation. It was found that gangrene pisoning had set in and from the first his life was dispaired of. He passed away
Sunday morning. Latshaw was well known in Sullivan having played with the Bicknell golfers in the various tournaments which the two
country clubs have enjoyed for the past few years. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Bicknell this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery of Bicknell.

JOSEPH HOMER LATSHAW, a prominent Oaktown citizen passed away at his home in that community Sunday night at 9 o'clock
following an illness of several weeks, of complications due to old age. Mr. Latshaw, a native of that section of the county was for
many years associateded with the firm of Latshaw and Wolfe, undertakers and hardware dealers. He was also active in farming
enterprises. He was a member of the Christian Church, & active in its affairs until forced to retire with advancing age. Surviving
are the widow, Eliza Latshaw, & 6 children: Scott, John M., Russell A., Mrs. Jennie Cable, Mrs. Elsie Parker, & Mrs Grace Williams,
all of Oaktown. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, the Rev. L.H. Hass , pastor of the
Oaktown Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Oaktown cemetery. ( in The Vincennes Post, Tues Aug 23, 1938; died

Mrs, RUSHA ( LATSHAW ) SULLINGER, age 80 years, died at 8 o'clock Tues evening at her home here following an illness of
several years. Mrs. Sullinger was born in Missouri the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James Price. She was a member of the Methodist
Church in Vincennes. Funeral services will be held at 2 O'clock Thurs at the Oaktown M.E. Church with burial in Oaktown
cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Brazil Porter of Bruceville, and Mrs Jennie Kable of Oaktown, and three sons,
Raymond Sullinger, John Latshaw, and Scott Latshaw, of Oaketown. She also leaves a sister Miami Sullinger, Oaktown, and one
brother John H. Price, Bellview, Mo; 10 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.
