He attended Juniata College and was employed for 28 years as a highway engineer for PennDOT. He later was employed as a mechanical
engineer for the McCreary Tire and Rubber Company and taught evening classes at both Penn State University and Indiana Sr. High School.
Following his retirement from McCreary Rubber, he served as consulting engineer and projects supervisor for the Municipal Garage and Armory
expansion projects in Indiana as well as several other buildings in Indiana, including the S.W. Jack condominiums on 9th street.
As a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church he was member of the board of Deacons, Trustees and Elders. He taught Sunday School for 25
years.
Mr. Latshaw served for more than 20 years as the Chairman of the White Township Planning Commision and was a member of the American
Society of Highway Engineers and the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees.

Saturday, August 14, 1943
Andrew J. ICE passed away at his home, 813 East Tenth street, at 8:30 Friday evening following a lengthy illness. Mr. Ice,
who for many years was employed as a laborer for the city of Rochester, had been a resident of this community for over 75 years.
Andrew J., son of William and Mary ICE, was born at Sulphur Springs, Ind., and moved to Rochester with his parents when he
was but seven years of age. His wife, who was formerly Mary L. BERRY, preceded him in death last November.
Survivors are a son, George ICE, of this city; two step-sons, Stephen CRUSORE, of Lafayette, Ind., and Curtis CRUSORE, of
his city; three step-daughters, Mrs. George KUHULE, Mrs. Pat FLANNAGAN, both of Lafayette; Mrs. Pearl SPRIY [SPRY ?], of
Rochester; twenty grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, two o'clock, at the Christian church. Rev. Harry J. BAILEY will be in charge
of the services, and burial will be in the Citizens cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Lucinda ICE, 84, wife of Andrew ICE, died of complications Saturday afternoon at 3:15 at her home on East
Tenth street. She had been ill for one year.
The deceased was born in Tipton county on February 20, 1858. The parents were Joseph and Mary (KING) BERRY. Mrs. Ice
had been a resident of this city for 55 years moving here from her birthplace. She was married to Mr. Ice in 1897.
Surviving are: the husband; two sons, Curtis [ICE] and Stephen [ICE], both of Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia
FLANAGAN, of Lafayette; Mrs. Clara KOONLEY and Mrs. Pearl SPRY, both of this city; and a step-son, George ICE, of
Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Reverends MOUNT and
YEAZEL will officiate. Burial will be at the Citizens cemetery.

Charles (Ponty) ICE, aged 66, passed away at his home 709 E. 10th street at 11:30 o'clock Saturday evening. Death resulted
from complications after an illness of 18 months duration, the deceased having been bedfast for the past year. The deceased had
been a resident of this city for almost his entire life having followed the occupation of drayman and laborer until ill health forced
his retirement.
Charles, son of Theo. and Mary ICE, was born on a farm near Newcastle, Ind., on March 4th, 1861 and came to Rochester
with his parents when still a young child. In the year of 1882 he was united in marriage to Louisa RANNELLS, who preceded him in
death several years ago. Mr. Ice was a member of the Moose lodge. Survivors are one son, Geo. ICE, a daughter, Mrs. Grace
KNIGHT, both of this city, one step-son, Henry EYTCHESON, and a brother George [ICE], also of Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday morning 10 o'clock with Rev. F. G. GLEASON officiating. Burial will be
made in the Citizens cemetery.

George W. ICE, aged 68, a Spanish-American war veteran was found dead in his apartment 115-1/2 East Ninth Street at 7
o'clock Saturday evening.
The body was discovered by Mrs. Martha POORMAN a neighbor who had gone to the Ice apartment to borrow a newspaper. Dr.
Dean STINSON, coroner, was called and found that death was due to a heart attack which Ice had probably suffered 24 hours before
the body was found.
The deceased was a life long resident of Rochester. He was born in this city on June 5, 1869 and was the son of Theodore and
Mary (LOTSHAW) ICE. His wife who was Etta MOORE preceded him in death.
Mr. Ice was employed for a number of years by A. J. BARRETT in his lumber yard in this city. He also was a carpenter and
served for eight years as assistant fire chief, and at his death was a member of the board of trustees of the Citizen's Cemetery.
Mr. Ice was a veteran of the Spanish-American war and served throughout the war with a company which was recruited in this
city. He was a member of the A. H. Skinner Post of Spanish-American war veterans of this city.
The widow and six children preceded Mr. Ice in death. Survivors are niece Mrs. Grace KNIGHT of this city and nephew George
ICE of Goshen.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Foster Funeral Home in West Sixth street at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with
Rev. James MacELREE in charge. Burial will be made in the Citizen's Cemetery.
A military service will be conducted at the graveside by the members of the A. H. Skinner Post and the LeRoy Shelton
American Legion Post.
