Tenn., Oct. 10, 1832. He was born May 25, 1749, in Loudoun County, Va. He moved to Brunswick County, Va., and while a resident there he enlisted in April, 1779, and served three months in Capt. Benjamin Jones' company. Col. Frederick McLin's Virginia regiment. While a resident of Caswell County, N. C., he enlisted in March, 1781, and served three months in Captain Aaron Horrell's Company, Colonel Wadkins' North Carolina Regiment. He enlisted again in October, 1782, and served five months in Captain Swan Ironton's Company, under Major Bennet Crafton in North Carolina Troops. After the Revolution he moved to Tennessee.
