(For map, see http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/ , go to query, type in Waite-Friendship for feature, Tennessee for state, cemetery for type, & Bedford for county; then go to map) It was discovered by accident while some bulldozing was being done to clear the land. Most of the stones are broken, and there are many unmarked field stones which may or may not be markers. Some headstones may be buried. An unofficial report says that there are unmarked slave graves. There are also 3 piles of rocks which may have been part of a stone wall or may have been grave markers (stones piled up to make sides, then with large flat stones laid across the top). The entire cemetery is in complete disrepair, but the current owner is taking care to protect what is left. Proverbs 22:1 – "A good name is to be more desired than great riches." The inventory of this cemetery is a family and homeschool project by David & Jenny Calvin with their children Charity, Julian, & Lauren. If you find some of your family in this cemetery, we'd love to hear from you! (dcalvin5@ficom.net) SACRED to the memory of inestimable worth Wm G.
