And it appearing to the Satisfaction of the Court that Michael Meadows is dead, that he devised the Slaves mentioned in the petition to Jane Meadows during her natural life who is now dead and at her death to his children, that he appointed Harris & James Meadows Executors of his said last Will and Testament that they are both dead. And the petitioner Thomas Lipscomb has been regularly appointed the Administrator with the Will annexed on Said Estate of Michael Meadows deceased, And that there has come into his possession and control as such Administrator the Slaves Franky, Amy, Bob, Jerry,--Silvey & her 4 children Weny, Minerva and her Child, Matt -- Milley, George -- Harriett -- Rebecca -- Sophronia Ann Alfred & Tom, and that they will have to be sold for distribution. It is therefore Ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that Thomas Lipscomb be appointed the Commissioner to sell said slaves, that he sell them on a credit of Twelve months at the Court house in Shelbyville, first giving twenty days Notice of the time & place of sale in one or more newspapers to be by him Selected, Together with printed notices set up at three or more public places,--And report his proceeding to some Subsequent Term of this Court--And the Court doth further decree that the said Commissioner make the best disposition he can for the old Woman Frankey (sic), having due regard to the rights of those interested. And the said negro Womans comfort--And also make his report as to what disposition he may make of her. All other matters are reserved untill (sic) the coming in of said report.
