Armstrong for 178 a (479 This Indenture made this 24th day of May in The Year Our Lord One thousand eight hundred & Nineteen between John Baird of Bedford County & State of tennessee on the One part & Jas L Armstrong of the County & State aforesaid on the Other Part Witnesseth, that the said John Baird for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seven hundred & Twelve dollars to him in hand paid by the Said James L Armstrong the receipt whareof is hereby Acknowledged Hath given granted bargained Sold aliened Conveyed & Confirmed unto the said James L Armstrong his heirs And Assigns a Certain Tract or parcel of Land Situate Lying and being in the County Bedford & State aforesaid to wit Begining on a beach the South East Corner of a 50 acre Survey Conveyed unto Flower Swift by John Thompson the said beach standing In McCuistion west boundary line thence with said line South to the Corner of the Same Six poles to an Ash & White Oak thence East eighty five Poles to a White Oak in Tatums South boundary line thence South with Balches line One hundred & eighty four Poles to three Ashes thence West to the Bank of the River to Wilhoits line with the Same North to Swifts Corner with his line to the Begining Containing 480) By Estimation one hundred & Seventy eight Acres more or Less To Have and to hold the aforesaid land with all And Singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in & to the Same belonging or in any wise appertaining to The Only proper use and behoof of him the Said Jas.
