Abner Chappel to Malcom Gilchrist, Bedford County, TN, March 1817

Surnames:  Chappel, Gilchrist, Parker, Payne

[Note:  The clerk left a space for the date, but didn't put anything there.  I 
have used the "equal" sign to represent a double line the clerk used to fill 
in the rest of one line and hyphens to represent a single line he used to fill 
in two others.  The string of periods before the signature are, as usual, 
place holders used to keep the format similar to the written record.]

35)  Abner Chapbell to M Gilchrist Lot No 134 
This Indenture made [blank] day of March 
In the Year of Our Lord One Thousand eight hundred 
And Seventeen between Abner Chappel of Bedford 
County & State of Tennessee on the One Part and 
Malcom Gilchrist of Bedford County and State 
aforesaid of the Other Part ============== 
Witnesseth, that the, Said Abner Chappel for 
And in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty five 
Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said 
Malcom Gilchrist the receipt whareof is hereby 
Acknowledged, hath, given granted, bargained, 
Sold, alined, Conveyed and Confirmed unto the 
Said Malcom Gilchrist his heirs & assigns forever 
a Certain Tract or parcel of Land, Situate 
Lying And being in the County of Bedford 
And known by Number One hundred & 
thirty four on the Plan of the Town of 
Shelbyville adjoining the South West boundary 
line of said Town & the West boundary Line of 
Spring Street ---------------------------- 
To Have and To Hold the aforesaid Land 
With all & Singular the rights, Profits 
Emoluments hereditaments & appurtenances

appertaining to the only Proper use & behoof of 
Him the Said Malcom Gilchrist his heirs & assigns 
Forever And the Said Abner Chappell for 
Himself his heirs Executors and administrators

Malcom Gilchrist his heirs and Assigns, that 
the before recited Land and Bargained Premises 
He will Warrant and forever defend the right 
Title Interes or Claim of all & every Person or 
Persons Whatever, In Witness, whareof the 
Said Abner Chappell hath hereunto Set his 
Hand And affixed his Seal the day & year above Written
