Witnesseth that the said A. Erwin Sr. for the sum of four hundred Dollars to him paid doth Convey unto the said Tolbert and A. Erwin Jr. a Certain Tract or Parcel of land Situate on Knob Creek of Duck River. Beginning at Vincent Smith's South West Corner on a Beech and Hickory Thence West Two Hundred and Thirty Eight poles to the Garrison Fork of Duck River To a Sycamore Thence North Ten Poles to G. Newton's Corner on a Sycamore Thence the various Courses of his line Eastward by poles to Vincent Smith's line in the South bank of Knob Creek to a Sugar Tree and with his line to the Beginning in all sixty four acres. To have and to said Land with the exception of about four Acres Heretofore Conveyed to the use of the Newton Academy which is herein set apart for said purpose. To the sole use and behoof of them the said Tolbert and Erwin Jr. their heirs and assigns Forever and the said A. Erwin for himself, His heirs and assigns doth covenant and will defend the same against the Lawful Claim of all Manner of Persons Whatever.
