Sharp danstevensharp@comcast.net February 3, 2007, 10:46 pm Written: January 5, 1839 Recorded: January 24, 1839 Bedford County, Tennessee Deed Book HH, pages 265-266 Martin Hancock to William Sharp Deed 52 1/2 acres This Indenture made this, this 5th day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred an thirty nine - Between Martin Hancock of the County of Coffee of the one part, and William Sharp of the County of Bedford, and both of the State of Tennessee, of the other part. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath Granted, bargained & sold, And do by these presents, grant bargain & sell, Alien, convey & confirm unto the said Wm Sharp, his heirs and Assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of Land, situate lying and being on the Garrison fork of Duck River - Beginning at three Beaches[sic] on the West Bank of said River - and running said River with the meander thereof to the mouth of the first branch running in on the west side of said River, Thence north fifty nine poles to Thomas Kindals corner, and the same course until it strikes the Northern Boundary of Grant No. 217, thence West with the line thereof to the north west corner, thence one hundred and thirty eight poles to a rock corner, thence East fifty eight poles to the Beginning, Containing by calculation fifty two and a half acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid Tract of land with all and Singular rights profits hereditaments[sic] & appertainences[sic] of in and to the same, belonging in any wise appertaining, to the only proper use and benefit of him the said Wm Sharp his heirs and assigns forever. An I the said Martin Hancock, for myself my heirs and assigns doth covenant & agree to and with the said Wm Sharp his heirs and assigns that the before recited land & bargained premises I will warrant & forever defend against the right, Title claim & interest of all & every person or manner of persons, whatsoever.
