Harris Bedford Co., TN Newton C. Harris to Charles F. Wilkes & others. Deed of Gift Know all men by these presents that I Newton C. Harris of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee in consideration of the natural love & affection which I bear for my nephews and nieces hereafter named, and also for diverse good causes & consideration (illegible) same Newton C. Harris hereunto moving have given, granted and confirmed, and by these present do give grant and confirm, unto the said nephews and nieces hereafter named, all and singular the following property., To my Nephew, Charles F. Wilkes one sorrel colt about ten months old, and one saddle, and one sow, and twelve pigs and eight shoats, Also I give to my Nephew William P. Wilkes one feather bed, bedstead & furniture and ten chairs, I also give to my niece Elizabeth J. Wilkes, one feather bed & bedstead & furniture and one side saddle, I also give to my Niece Lazina D. Wilkes, one feather bed, bedstead & furniture, one chest, I also give to my Neace Martha G Wilkes one feather bed, bedstead & furniture, I also give to my niece Sarah F. Wilkes one loom and one flax wheel, I also give to my Niece Tallitha W. Wilkes, twelve geese(illegible), I also give to my niece Almeda B. Wilks one cow,- I also give to my niece Susanna M. Wilkes eighteen geese and twelve sheep, and one heifer & press. To have and to hold, and enjoy the same to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Charles F. Wilkes, William P. Wilkes, Eliza J. Wilkes, Elizabeth J. Wilkes, Lazina D. Wilkes, Martha C. Wilkes, Sarah F. Wilkes, Tallitha W. Wilkes, Almedia B. Wilkes, and Susanna M. Wilkes their heirs and assigns forever.
