This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Bob Meadows rmeadows@krl.org ==================================================================== Lemuel Snelling & John King to Francis King, Bedford Co., TN, 28 April 1818 Bedford Co., TN, deed book J, pp. 68-70: 68) Snelling & King to Francis King for 255 Acres This Indenture made this the Twenty Eighth day of April in the Year of Our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen between Lemuel Sneling and John King Executors of John King deceased of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee of the One part & Francis King of the County And State aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth, that for and inconsideration of the Sum of five Hundred and Ten dollars in hand paid to the aforesaid John King deceased Testator of the aforesaid Lemuel Snelling & John King the receipt whareof we the aforesaid Lemuel Snelling and John King lawfull Executors of the aforesaid John King deceased do hereby acknowledge We the said Executors of John King deceased do Hereby bargain Convey and Confirm unto the Aforesaid Francis King a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Situate lying And being in the said County of Bedford on the West Side of the Garrison Fork of Duck river Bounded as follows (Viz) Begining at a Stake in the Center of the Garrison fork of said river a few yards above Whare the road Crosses said Fork in the South boundary line of a Survey made for McGee & Telford which includes their mill on said Fork Runing from thence North 84 W with the line [--pg. 69--] of Said Survey Passing the Corner in all 24 Poles to a Stake at the South East Corner of said Francis Kings field, Thence S 80 1/2 [degrees] W 70 poles to an ash on the East Side of a branch, thence N 57 1/4 [degrees] West 100 Poles To an Ash Elm & Sugartree, thence N 23 [degrees] W 100 Poles To a White Oak and Ironwood, thence north 60 Poles To Two Beeches in the Old line as run for John Overton And Jenkin Whitesides Then with same line S 87 [degrees] E 267 Poles to the Center of said Garrison fork of Duck river near the mouth of the Wartrace of said River, thence with the Center of said Garison fork down To the Begining including Two hundred & fifty five Acres be the Same More or Less. To Have And to hold the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land With all and Singular, the rights, profits issues rents, Emoluments, hereditaments and appurtenances Thereunto in any wise appertaining of and to all the aforesaid Tract or parcel of land to the proper use benefit and behoof of him the Said King And his heirs And assigns forever And the Said Lemuel Snelling & John King legal Executors of the Said John King deceased for themselves And their heirs assigns Executors And Administrators as also on the behalf of all the Legatees and Devisees of John King deceased doth hereby Covenant And agree for the Consideration herein before mentioned to Convey the aforesaid Tract or Parcel of Land to aforesaid Francis [--pg. 70--] Francis King his heirs &c and to warrant and defend the aforesaid tract or Parcel of Land against the Just & Legal Claim or Claims of any Person or Persons whatever and Secure to the aforesaid Francis King & his heirs &c The Peacable & Quiet possession of it forever Witness Our hands and Seal this the Twenty Eight day of April in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Eighteen Signed Sealed And Delivered .....
