Talbert, A. Myers and Others, Agreement etc. This deed witnesseth that whereas heretofore in the month of November 1844, Thomas Talbert departed this life intestate in the County of Bedford, Tennessee, leaving Nancy Talbert, his widow and James R. Talbert, John H. Talbert, and Patsey Myers, wife of Abram Myers his only children and distributees, and whereas the said Thomas Talbert at the time of his death was the Owner of the following Slaves, to wit: Lucy aged about forty five years, Jesse aged about thirty two years, Sithia aged about sixteen years and Jack aged about nine years and whereas the above named James R. Talbert and John H. Talbert have been duly appointed administrators of the estate of said Thomas Talbert and now by the Signing of this Agreement manifest their Willingness that the above named Slaves should be now divided between all the distributees, therefore we Nancy Talbert, James R. Talbert, John H. Talbert, Abram Myers and Patsey Myers hereby convey and relinquish all our right and interest in said Lucy to the said Nancy Talbert forever, And we also agree that James R. Talbert have and take Jack valued at three hundred dollars, and we Nancy Talbert, John H. Talbert, Abram Myers and Patsey Myers hereby convey and relinquish all our right and interest to said Jack to the said James R. Talbert forever - We also agree that John H. Talbert have and take Jesse valued at five hundred dollars. And we Nancy Talbert, James R. Talbert, Abram Myers and Patsey Myers hereby convey and relinquish all our right and interest to the said boy Jesse to the said John H. Talbert forever. And it is further agreed that Abram Myers in right of his wife Patsey have and take the girl Sithia Valued at four hundred and twenty five dollars. And we James R. Talbert, John H. Talbert and Nancy Talbert hereby convey and relinquish all our right and interest to said girl Sithia to the said Abram Myers forever. And we James R. Talbert and John H. Talbert as administrators of the Estate of Thomas Talbert hereby relinquish all our interests in and to the above named slaves as such administrators to the persons to whom they are respectively allotted by their agreement. Talbert, Abram Myers, Nancy Talbert and Patsey Myers the bargainors and that they acknowledged the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date except Patsey Myers who acknowledged on the 15th January 1845.
