Sally & Moses Payne to Zebediah Payne, Bedford Co., TN, 5 July 1824

they belong, and to move the parentheses to where they belong, were not in the 
original; but then Mr. McKisick didn't have to accommodate software that 
deletes what it has been told are unnecessary empty spaces. The strings of 
hyphens represent the lines that the clerk drew instead of using periods.)

Sally & Moses Payne to Zebediah Payne Bill Sale (489
State of Tennessee ) Know all men by these presents that we
Bedford County ....) Sally Payne & Moses Payne adm's of Shrewsbury
Payne Dec'd of the County of Bedford & State aforesaid hath for & in
consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to us in hand
paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained
sold & delivered & by these presents do bargain sell & deliver
unto Zebediah Payne of the same place a negro Boy named
William which Negro William we do warrant & forever defend unto
the said Zebediah his heirs & assigns forever from the Just Claims of
all person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof we
have hereunto set our hands and seals this 5th July
