This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Bob Meadows rmeadows@krl.org ==================================================================== Moses Payne to Zebediah Payne, Bedford Co., TN, 1 June 1824 Bedford Co., TN, deed book R, pp. 497-498: Moses Payne to Zebediah Payne (497 This Indenture made this first Day of June 1824 between Mosses Payne of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee of the one part and Zebediah Payne of the County and State aforesaid of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said Moses Payne of the first part for & in Consideration of the Sum of one Hundred & Sixty Dollars on note now runing in the Name of the Nashville Bank at Shelbyville whereon said Z D Payne of the second part has Indorsed said Note as Surety one other [??] of April last the benefit whereof is Hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained & sold unto the said Z D Payne his heirs & assigns all of my present Crop which is now groing on the place whereon I now live Consisting of Corn Oats & Cotton To Have & To Hold all & Singular the said Crop all that the Same may make as before mentioned & entered in toto unto the said Z Payne of the second part to the only proper use & behoof of the said Z Payne his heirs & assigns forever provided always & these presents are upon the Condition that If the said Moses Payne do well & Truly pay or Cause to be paid the said sum of $160 which has [to] be renewed every ninty Days with Interest & so Long as the said Z Payne doth Assign said note as Surety these presents unto him in Surety for the same and provided the said Moses Payne do pay the Interest and Calls on said note when demanded so that the said Z Payne has none of the said note nor Interest to pay nor is in no wise Injured by said Indorsement then the above & foregoing obligation to be null & void otherwise to remain in full fourse in Law and Equity.
