This Indenture made this Twenty Sixth day of November in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred And Nineteen Between Daniel Davis of Bedford County and State of Tennessee of the one Part and John Payne of the County and State aforesaid of the other Part ------- Witnesseth that the said Daniel Davis for & in Consideration The Sum of One hundred Dollars to him in hand Paid The receipt whareof is hereby Acknowledged hath & by these Presents doth grant bargain Sell & Deliver to the Said John Payne a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Lying and Being in Our County of Bedford and State aforesaid & Waters of Sinking Creek the place whareon the Said Payne now lives and boundered as follows ---------- Begining at an ash on the School land line & runs East with Said line one hundred & Two poles to an Elm thence north eighty poles to a Lynn thence West One hundred Poles to a dogwood thence South to the Begining with all and Singular the woods Waters Water Courses profits Comodities Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the Said Land belonging or appertaining and the reversions rents and Issue thereof with all the Estate right Title Interest property Claim and demand of him the said Daniel Davis His heirs &c unto the said John Payne his heirs &c of in & to the Same and every Part and Parcel Thereof either in Law or equity To Have and [--pg. 253--] To the Said Tract of fifty acres of Land with the Appurtenances unto the Said Payne his heirs and Assigns forever against the Lawfull Title Claim & Demand of all and every Person or Persons Whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever defend to the Said Payne the Daniel Davis do Defend the Same.
