Bedford Co., TN, deed book H, pp. 370-371: 370) James Sample to John Baker This Indenture made this 2d day of April In the Year of Our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred And Eighteen between James Sample of Bedford County and State of Tennessee on the part and John Baker of The county of Bedford And State of Tennessee on the other part Witnesseth that the said James Sample for and in Consideration of The Sum of One Hundred & fifty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Baker The receipt Whareof is hereby Acknowledged Hath Given Granted, bargained, Sold, aliened Conveyed and Confirmed unto the said Jno Baker his heirs And assigns forever a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land, Situate lying & being in the County of Bedford on the north side of Duck River Begining at the north east Corner of James Samples pieas of Land held by Deed from said Baker runing from thence Rachele Newtons south east Corner thence with the Said Rachell Newtons South line to her South west Corner thence South to James Samples north west Corner then east with said Samples line To the Begining Containing Six And 3/4 Acres of Land, To Have And To Hold the aforesaid Land with all And Singular the rights profits emoluments & appurtenances [--pg. 371--] of in And to the Same belonging or in any Wise appertaining to the only proper use And behoof of him the Said John Baker his heirs And Assigns forever And the Said Jno Sample for his heirs Executors & administrators doth Covenant & agree to & with the Said Jno Baker his heirs & Assigns that the before recited Land & bargained premises he Will warrant & forever defend against the right Title Interest or Claim of all And every person or persons Whatever ............In Witness whareof the Said James Sample has hereunto Set his hand and Affixed his Seal the day & year above written.
