Bedford Co., TN, deed book H, pp. 454-455: 454) James Sample to John Baker 3 Acres This Indenture made this 2d day of april in The Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred And eighteen between James Samples of Bedford County And State of Tennessee on the Part & John Baker of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee on the Other Part Witnesseth, That the Said James Samples for and in Consid- eration of the Sum of One hundred Dollars to him in hand Paid, by the Said John Baker the Receipt whareof is hereby Acknowledged, hath Given Granted, bargained, Sold, aliened, Conveyed And Confirmed unto the Said John Baker his Heirs And Assigns forever, a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land, Situate, lying, And being in The County of Bedford on the North Side of Duck River Begining at Peter Chilcuts South west Corner on the [Juell ?
