James Samples to John Baker, Bedford Co., TN, 2 April 1818

(Note: The name of the road is poorly written, and I don't recognize it. It 
resembles Juell. It may be that the deed abbreviated Shelbyville as Sville, 
and the clerk didn't recognize the name, leading him to approximate the 
appearance of what he saw on the deed.)

454) James Sample to John Baker 3 Acres
This Indenture made this 2d day of april in
The Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred
And eighteen between James Samples of Bedford
County And State of Tennessee on the Part &
John Baker of the County of Bedford and State
of Tennessee on the Other Part Witnesseth,
That the Said James Samples for and in Consid-
eration of the Sum of One hundred Dollars to
him in hand Paid, by the Said John Baker the
Receipt whareof is hereby Acknowledged, hath
Given Granted, bargained, Sold, aliened, Conveyed
And Confirmed unto the Said John Baker his
Heirs And Assigns forever, a Certain Tract or
Parcel of Land, Situate, lying, And being in
The County of Bedford on the North Side of Duck
River Begining at Peter Chilcuts South west
Corner on the [Juell ? Svill ?] Court road, runing from
Thence with Said Chilcuts west boundary line
North Thirty Two And one half Poles to a Stake
Thence North 52 degrees west Seventeen Poles to a
Stake thence South Thirty Two And a half
Poles to a Stake in Said Road Thence with said
Road Southwardly to the Begining Containing
Three Acres To Have And To Hold the aforesaid
land with all And Singular the rights Profits
Emoluments, hereditaments and appurtenances
of in And to the Same belonging or in

And behoof of him the Said John Baker his
heirs and assigns forever, and the Said James
Samples for his heirs Executors and administrators
doth Covenant and agree to And with the
Said John Baker his heirs And assigns that

ainst the right, Title Interest or Claim of all
And every Person or Persons Whatever, In Witness
Whereof the Said James Samples has hereunto
