Sharp DAN@danstevensharp.us February 12, 2007, 8:04 pm Written: August 15, 1842 Recorded: August 17, 1842 Bedford County, Tennessee Deed Book LL, Page 438 William Sharp To Martin Hancock & Samuel Hancock Deed 62 Acres This indenture made this 15th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two Between William Sharp of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee of the one part and Martin Hancock and Samuel Hancock of the County of Coffee and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Sharp for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred Dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged, hath Granted, bargained and Sold unto the said Martin Hancock and Samuel Hancock a Tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Bedford and State aforesaid lying on the waters of Scotts branch a fork of the Garrison fork of Duck River. Beginning on a beech and buckeye running thence North 12° East sixty three poles to a poplar, in a hollow, thence with the meanders of the hollow South 11° East thirty eight poles to a stake, thence South 35° East forty two poles to a Walnut and honey locust in the center of said hollow and on Harrison Gaston’s West boundary line, thence South across a ridge to a beech in John Jackes[sic] North boundary line, thence West with said line to a stake at the end of the lane between John Jackes and Wm Stephens, thence with Stephen’ line to two sugar trees one of said Stephen’ North East corner, Thence West with said Stephen’ line to his North West Corner in George Stephens line thence North West with said Stephens line to a chesnut[sic], thence with said Stephen’s line North East to a Stake in Wm Robinson’s line, thence South 66° East to the beginning–Containing 62 Acres be the same more or less. And the said William Sharp for himself his heirs and assigns doth warrant and forever defend the above bargained premises to the said Martin Hancock and Samuel Hancock their heirs and assigns forever, against the lawfull[sic] claims of all manner of persons whatever. In Witness whereof he have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, the day and date above written, signed, sealed, & delivered in presence of us John Bell Wm Sharp (seal) W. H. Sharp State of Tennessee || Personally appeared before me Robert Hurst clerk of the Bedford County || County Court of said County William Sharp the within named bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that he executed the within deed for the purposes therein contained.
