William Sharp To Hannah Hancock Bill of Sale



Recd of Hannah Hancock five hundred and sixty one dollars and thirty eight 

cents for three Negroes, one woman named Sarah, aged thirty seven years one 

boy fifteen months old named Thomas – one girl named Easther[sic] aged six 

weeks which I warrant sound and sensible and slaves for life, given under my 

hand and seal August 16th 1842.

State of Tennessee || Personally appeared before me Robert Hurst clerk of the 

Bedford County     || County Court of said County William Sharp the within 

named bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged 

that he executed the within bill of sale for the purposes therein Contained.
