Sharp To Smith Carney Deed 52 67/160 Acres This Indenture made the fourth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two by and between Robert M. Sharp of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee of the one part and Smith Carney of the County of Coffee and the State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert M. Sharp for & in Consideration of the sum of Seven hundred & eighty dollars to him in hand well and truly paid, the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath Granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth Grant bargain and sell unto the said Smith Carney his heirs and assigns or Executors a certain Tract or parcel of land. Situate lying and being in the County of Bedford and State aforesaid on the waters of the Garrison fork of Duck River and adjoining lands with C. G. W. B. Shaw on the South and adjoining lands on the West with Martin Hancock and Samuel Hancock formerly owned by William Sharp. And adjoining land on the North with William Keele Senr and adjoining Lands with the said Smith Carney on the East. Beginning and cornering on a stake: Black Ash and beech pointers, on the West Bank of the Garrison fork of Duck River C. G. W. B. Shaws North East Corner, which he the C. G. W. B. Shaw purchased of the said Robert M. Sharp and in the East Boundary line of said Tract of land that formerly belonged to the said Robert M. Sharp, Thence North crossing a small hollow at nineteen poles in all sixty four poles to a sugar tree corner and sugar tree pointer, Thence West six and one third poles with Smith Carney’s line to a beech, thence North sixty seven and two third poles with said Carney’s line to a Beech said Carneys Corner, Thence West nineteen and two third poles to a lynn, thence North Ten and two third poles to a stake in the said Smith Carneys line in the middle of the Garrison fork meeting house road leading from Puncheon Camp, Thence Running South of West forty one and a half poles with the Center of said road to a stake and beech pointer, thence South one hundred and twenty poles with the East boundary line of a Tract of land Owned by the said Martin and Samuel Hancock formerly owned by William Sharp to a stone in said East boundary line twelve poles North of a branch, the North west corner of a Tract of land that C. G. W. B. Shaw purchased of the said Robert M. Sharp, the said East boundary line of the said Hancock’s dividing a cross fence on said line Equally and the said Smith Carney is to have half the cross fence on said line, Thence East sixty four poles from the said C. G. W. B. Shaws North West Corner in said East boundary line of said Martin and Samuel Hancocks to the Beginning in District No. One in the said County of Bedford and State aforesaid unencumbered, by estimation Containing Fifty two acres and Sixty Seven and two third poles, be the same more or less … …with all and Singular the hereditaments and appertainency[sic] thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and all the Estate, right, Title, interest, claim, and demand whatever of him the said Robert M. Sharp, of in and to the said Lands and premises, and every part and parcel thereof To have and To hold the said lands and premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Smith Carney his heirs Executors or administrators To the only proper use and behoof of the said Smith Carney his heirs and Executors or administrators forever. And the said Robert M. Sharp for himself & his heirs & Executors or administrators the said lands and premises and every part and parcel thereof against himself the said Robert M. Sharp and his heirs and Executors or administrators and all and every other person whatever, will warrant and forever defend to the said Smith Carney his heirs and Executors and administrators, in witness whereof the said Robert M.
