Shaw Deed This Indenture made this third day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two Between Robert M. Sharp of the one part, C. G. W. B. Shaw of the Other part both of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that the said Robert M. Sharp for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and eighty two dollars and fifty cents to him in hand paid by the C. G. W. B. Shaw the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Given Granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed unto said C. G. W. B. Shaw his heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of land Situated lying and being in the County of Bedford and State aforesaid and bounded as follows, Beginning on a rock it being C. G. W. B. Shaws North West corner of the Tract that he now lives on and in the East boundary line of Martin and Samuel Hancock’s line Deeded to them from William Sharp Senr to sd Hancock’s Thence East with C. G. W. B. Shaws North boundary line fifty eight poles to three Beeches on the West bank of Garrison fork of Duck River, thence up with the meanders of said Creek 21 poles to the mounth of the first small branch to an ash and elm pointer, thence North fifty nine poles to Thomas Kindall’s corner in all sixty five 2/3 poles to a stake (on the West bank of the Garrison Fork) a beech & black ash pointers, thence West sixty four poles to a rock in Martin & Samuel Hancock’s East boundary line (said rock) corner being twelve poles [with: the word "with" struck out] north of a small branch) thence South to the Beginning (said line dividing the fence equally that is on the line) Containing by calculation thirty two acres 10 poles & 2/3 of a pole be the same more or less. To have and To hold, the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits, Emoluments, hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said C. G. W. B. Shaw, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Robert M. Sharp, for himself his heirs Executors and administrators, does covenant and agree with the said C. G. W. B. Shaw, his heirs or assigns that the before recited land and premises he will warrant and forever defend against the right, title interest or claim of all and every person whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Robert M. Sharp hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year above written. Signed, sealed, and delivered, in the presence of Test T. A. Keeling Robert M. Sharp the bargainor, and that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date.
