Bill of Sale, Christency Thompson and John F. Thompson, Administrators, 
to John Blackwell
TSLA, Bedford County, TN Deeds, Book GG, Page 102, 1 May 1837

I have this day sold and do hereby convey to John Blackwell, his heirs and
assigns forever, for seven hundred and fifty dollars to me paid, a man
Slave named Nelson. I warrant the title to said Slave to the said John
Blackwell, his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons
and I also warrant him to be sound, healthy, sensible and a slave for life.
This 1st day of May 1837.
