All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 5, 2009, 1:50 pm Written: November 24, 1818 Recorded: November 1818 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 17, Page 78, 79 Samuel Turrentine to John Reddin Samuel Turrentine ) To ) John Redding ) This Indenture made the Twenty fourth day of November One thousand eight hundred & Eighteen between Samuel Turrentine of the State of Tennessee & County of Bedford of the one part & John Reddin of the State of North Carolina Orange County of the other part Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the Sum of Twenty five Dollars to him the said Samuel Turrentine in hand paid by the said John Reddin before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged he the said Samuel Turrentine hath bargained & sold, aliened, conveyed & confirmed And by these presents doth bargain Sell alien convey & confirm unto the said John Reddin his heirs and assigns forever A certain Tract or parcel of Land lying & being in the County of Orange aforesaid on the Waters of Little River Adjoing the Land formerly owned by John Estes, John Gattis & Jesse Benton Begining at a black Jack a corner of the Land formerly the property of Isaac Gattis runing thence East Eight chains to a Post Oak on Estes’s line thence North [Twelve] chains to a black Jack, thence East fourteen chains & an half chain to a black Oak thence North Seven chains to a post Oak Bentons Corner thence West twenty two chains to a Turkey Oak thence South to the first Station Containing Twenty five acres be the same more or less: To have and to hold the above described land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said John Reddin his heirs and assigns forever to his & their only proper use & behoof And the said Samuel Turrentine hereby binds himself his heirs [etc] to Warrent & forever defend the above described Land & Premises with all the appurtenances to him the said John Reddin his heirs & assigns forever against the Lawful claim or claims of all & every person whatsoever claiming by through or under me In witness whereof the said Samuel Turrentine hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his Seal the day & Year above Written – Signed Seald & delvd S Turrentine (seal) In presence of ) Thos Clancy ) Jno Wilson ) Orange County November Term 1818 The Execution of the foregoing Deed was duly proved in open Court by the Oath of Thomas Clancy a Subscribing Witness thereto & ordered to be Registered Test J Taylor C.C File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/tn/bedford/deeds/turrenti118gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/tnfiles/ File size: 3.1 Kb
