Forsyth to Edward Whitworth TSLA, Bedford County TN Deeds, Book DD, Page 160, dated 7 August 1832 State of Tennessee, Bedford County} This Indenture made and entered into between Edward Whitworth of the one part of the State and County aforesaid and Mary L. Forsythe of the County of Fayette and State aforesaid of the other part. The said Mary L. Forsythe hath bargained and sold to Edward Whitworth a part of the lot that has been held in common among the heirs of Benjamin Forsythe, Deceased. Bounded as follows: by Edward Whitworth on the North, by Allen Perry on the East by Edward Whitworth and Oakly on the south and by James Joyce on the West. Beginning on a stake two rods west of said Whitworth's south west corner and running east, south, west and north by the above mentioned names. Supposed to be sixteen acres more or less being on both sides of Spring Creek eight dollars to me in hand paid which lands the said Mary L. Whitworth warrants to be good to the said Whitworth his heirs and assigns forever this the seventh day of August eighteen hundred and thirty two. Mary L. Whitworth Attest: Thomas Higgs, Jurat Louis Terner, Jurat State of Tennessee, Bedford County} Personally appeared before me James McKissick, Clerk of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for said County Thomas Higgs and Louis Turner subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being first sworn deposed and said that they are acquainted with Mary L. Forsyth the bargainer and that she acknowledged the same in their presence to be her act and deed upon the day it bears date. Witnesseth my hand and seal the 20th May 1833.
