He was then between 80 and 85 years of age. He was born in Kent County, Delaware, about 1750. He enlisted in Kent County under Captain Nathan Adams and Lieut. Gordon in a regiment called the Delaware Blues. He marched to Dover, Delaware, then to Lewistown, down to the Light House, back to Lewistown, and then against a detachment of Tories.
