He was born in Amelia County. Va., Sept. 17, 1750. He enlisted while living in Fairfield County, N. C in 1780 in North Carolina troops under Capt. Eleazer Mobley and Col. John Winn. He enlisted for a second tour of service. After the close of the Revolution he moved to Fayette County, Ky. and from there to Georgia, thence to Rutherford County, Tenn,, and then to Bedford County, Tenn.
