Martha Starr Jones 

1919-2007 

Funeral services for Martha Starr Jones of McKenzie, formerly of Camden, age 88,

were held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Stockdale-Malin Chapel with

Dean Emerson officiating. Burial followed at Benton Memory Gardens.

Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Jones passed away Monday, Sept. 24 at Lakeside Retirement Center in

McKenzie. She was born January 24, 1919 near Salem, Ind. to the late Valorous

and Mable Trueblood Starr. She was a retired secretary from the Benton County

Board of Education and a member of the First United Methodist Church. 

She and her husband, John Clifford Jones were married Aug. 3,1940, in

Indianapolis, Ind. They had three children, Jerry Donald (Martha) Jones of Conn.

and Fla.; Virginia Ann Alexander of Indianapolis, Ind. and Glenn Ernest (Janice)

Jones of Jackson, 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert

Joseph Starr and a son-in-law, Wesley Walter Alexander. 

In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by four grandsons,

William Eugene (Jamie) Alexander, Larry Michael Alexander, Jeffrey Scott (Ann)

Jones, John David (Michele) Jones; a granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Garner; one

great-granddaughter, Alexandria Shelby Jones; four great-grandsons, Jackson Cole

Jones, Benjamin Tyler Jones, Christopher Ryan Jones and Hunter Swindle; a

brother, Malcolm Ray (Betty Lou) Starr of Salem, Ind.; a sister-in- law, Betty

Nelle Starr; four nieces and one nephew.
