Contributor's Note:  This Bible record was transcribed by Hester Janisch 
in December, 1998.. The information was apparently recorded after 1900, as 
the Certificate of Matrimony page has “In the year of our Lord 19__”. The 
record is transcribed as it was written without spelling or punctuation 
corrections.

Henry Clay Quiet(t) was born in 1846 in Macon County, North Carolina. He 
is found in the 1850 Blount County, Tennessee census as age 6. At age 14 
(1860 census) he is in Colquitt County, Georgia where he later enlisted in 
the 14th Georgia Regiment, Company G. After the Civil War, he returned to 
Blount County, married Ruthie Loufamie Hawkins and raised his family. He 
lived the rest of his life in Blount County except for a short stay in 
Graham County, North Carolina sometime between Jan. 1879 and Sept. 1881. 
Henry Clay died in 1922. He, his wife and some of their children and 
grandchildren are buried at Six Mile Baptist Church Cemetery on Old Piney 
Road in Blount County.
