Micheal HEDDERICH (1651-1721) Langen Selbold, Germany Carl (Coblin) HEDDERICH was born circa 1693 in Germany. His wife, Elizabeth ERMOLDT was born circa 1698. The story has been handed down in the family that the old Grandfather, Carl (Coblin) HEADRICK arrived in America on 27 August 1733 on the ship, Elizabeth, from Rotterdam, Holland, landing in Pennsyvania. The passenger list shows Coblin HETRICK, 40, and wife, Elizabeth ERMOLDT, 35. Their children were John Houst HETRICK, William HETRICK, Catrina HETRICK, Cohan Henrick HENRICK and Anna Margaret HETRICK. The old Grandfather Coblin HETRICK became Carl HEDRICK in America. He did not like it here and went back to Germany. His son, Cohan Henrick HETRICK, born in Germany about 1714, remained in the United States and became known as Henry HEDRICK. He died circa 1785. A land deed in Berk's Co PA in the Estate of Henry HEDRICK (no wife's name) mentions his son, William, with wife, Margaret, living in Hanover Twp. Cuphin Co PA. (Berks Co PA Deed Book 12, page 21) was dated 19 April 1787. The deed is between heirs of Henry HETTERICH of Bern Twp in Berks Co. Heirs named were: 1. William HETTERICH and wife Margaret of Hanover Twp Duphin Co PA (now Lebanon Co) 2. Jost (Joseph) HETTERICH, a single man of Bern Twp Berks Co PA 3. Peter HETTERICH, and wife Catherine, of Heidelberg Twp Berks Co PA 4. John FIBERGER and wife Catherine of Bern Twp Berks Co PA 5. Peter FEG and wife Abalena of Hanover Twp Duphin Co PA 6. Henry HETTERICH, Jr of Bern Twp Berks Co PA. (The town of Obold was formerly called Hettericksville after the family.) William HEDRICH was the first to come to TN to Sullivan Co in 1781. He then went to Greene Co and finally to Sevier Co in 1821 where he lived in Wear's Valley. HEADRICK FAMILY LINE Micheal HEDDRICH born 1651 died 1721 in Germany Carl HEDDRICH born 1693 in Germany and wife Elizabeth ERMOLDT born 1698 in Germany Henry HEDRICH born circa 1714 in Germany wife unknown was the first to raise a family in America William HEADRICK born 25 Dec 1744 in Lancaster Co PA was the first of the HEADRICK's born in America. His wife was Margaret. He was a soldier of the Revolutionary War under the command of General George Washington. He enlisted in 1775 and served six months. He was a Fifer and was in the Battles of Trenton Princeton Brandywine and Germantown. He was pensioned on Certificate 19067 issued under the act of 7 June 1832. The pension was paid at East Tennessee Agency file no. S4355. (National Archives Pension Files) William HEADRICK died in the late 1830's and is buried in HEADRICK's Chapel Cemetery Wear's Valley Sevier Co TN. No data on the death of his wife. Only the family of William HEADRICKS's son John HEADRICK has been researched for this record. John HEADRICK married Lizzie MYERS Of the John HEADRICK-Lizzie MYERS family, most of the sons settled in the Blount Co and the Sevier Co area of East TN. William and daughter Betty, have many descendants in the Walland and Maryville areas. Most of James' Peter and Dan's families were in the Wear's Valley and Townsand TN in the early days. Jacob's descendants are in GA. Now, of course, they are scattered all over the country. Research for this record has been concentrated on the James HEADRICK and Peter HEADRICK lines. Information connecting other HEADRICK lines have been used in many instances but have not been researched in depth. WILLIAM HEADRICK William HEADRICK was born 25 December 1744 in Lancaster Co PA. He and his wife Margaret moved to Sullivan Co TN in 1781 and to Blount Co Tn in 1821. They had five known children: 1. Katy HEADRICK was born in 1776. She married George CAYLOR 2. Rebecca HEADRICK was born 2 May 1796 and died 25 April 1870. She married William DUNN born 28 December 1794 and died 21 Dec 1862 on 31 January 1816 in Greene Co TN. 3. John HEADRICK was born 20 July 1775 and married Elizabeth MYERS. 4. Henry HEADRICK no information 5. Dan HEADRICK no information From File S4355 National Archives Pension Files Appeared before Jacob HOLLAND, one of the justices of the court by reason of old age and infirmity, being 88 years of age. Born in Lancaster Co Penn. 25th of December 1744. Has no record of his age as he lost his family Bible some years ago. He lived in Lancaster Co PA at which place he volunteered for 6 months tour in the fall of 1775 as he thinks – under Captian Thomas CASSENHEFNER in MajorAbraham LEDSOUR's Regiment of Militia. He was a musician and played the fife. Rendezvoused at Sloruton (?) town in Lancaster Co PA. Elizabethtown and Amboy-New York up the river-a battle (name unknown) Trenton- crossed the Delaware back to Lancaster. Verbally discharged in spring of 1776. 6 months Had a stroke of palsy a few months ago-impared his speech and has difficulty. In the summer of 1776 he enlisted for 18 months under Captian GRIBB in the 5th or 6th Penn. Most of the time under the Command of General WASHINGTON. Philadelphia – in battle of Trenton – Princeton and Brandywine. Germantown. Discharged at Philadelphia. Lost his discharge. Has lived the following places: Lancaster Co PA untill the war was over then to Sullivan Co Tn about 19 years. Then to Greene Co Tn –19 years then Sevier Co TN and has lived there ever since. He served in the Militia also. He never did receive a commision during the Revolution. He has no documentary evidence and knows no person who can testify to his actual service. JOHN HEADRICK John HEADRICK, son of William and Margaret HEADRICK, was born 20 July 1775 in PA. He was baptized on 13 August 1775. He married to Elizabeth "Lizzie" MYERS born circa 1788 parents unknown. John and Lizzie were living on Horse Creek in Greene Co TN in the early 1800's. They moved to Blount Co TN about 1821 settling in Tuckalechee Cove and raised their family. Their children were: 1. Betty HEADRICK born circa 1797 married 18 Jan 1826 to Pleasant "Plez" WALKER 2. William HEADRICK born 5 March 1799 married 22 May 1816 to Anne Nancy DUNN born 17 June 1799 3. Jacob HEADRICK born circa 1801 was married 12 Feb 1823 to Mary "Polly" RICE in Blount Co TN, by Samuel DAVIDSON. He was a Blacksmith. He moved to GA in the 1830's and died in Murray Co GA. 4. Mary HEADRICK born abt. 1840 married a PLENANS 5. James HEADRICK born 1 June 1808 in Greene Co Tn and died 15 July 1865. He was married 8 August 1829 in Blount Co Tn to Minerva STEPHENSON born 11 June 1812 and died 11 March 1877. James and Minerva are buried at HEADRICK's Chapel Cemetery in Sevier Co TN.
