JOHN TEDFORD Capt. John Tedford applied for revolutionary pension while living in Blount County, Tenn., where he lived for 45 years. He was born in Augusta County, Va., afterwards Rockbridge County, and was living there when he enlisted in Virginia troops and was appointed Ensign. He was afterwards promoted to Captain. He was in the battle of Guilford Court House where his brother, Capt. Alexander Tedford, commanding a company of Rockbridge militia, was killed. Robert Tedford, who drew a pension in Blount County was also his brother. Capt. John Tedford's widow was Jane Tedford.
