Her mother did not miss her at once and when search was made she was found stiff in death. According to all indications she died from a stroke of apoplexy, without a particle of pain or suffering. She had been in poor health since infancy but recently had appeared to be thriving better. Her mother was almost frantic with grief and neighbors soon gathered the little body into their arms and carried it into the house. Mr. Willard had gone to Knoxville that morning to be gone all week. He was notified by telephone and came home at once. As soon as the body was found a doctor was called, but he could do nothing as death had taken place at least half hour before his arrival. The child had been subject to light paralytic strokes for some time but not much was thought of it. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Magnolia Cemetery.
