BLOUNT COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Frances Bowditch Garner, 17 Nov 2004

MARYVILLE, TN - Frances Bowditch Garner, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 
17, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Edwin D. and 
Bernice Hamrick Bowditch. She was also preceded in death by a brother, 
Edwin A. Bowditch. She was a member of Maryville First United Methodist 
Church and once taught school in Mitchell County.

Survivors include her husband, George W. Garner; daughters, Denice 
Garner of Maryville, and Marcia Garner of Friendsville; a son, Murray 
Garner of Houston, TX; sisters, Miriam Bowditch of Morganton and Helen 
Runion of Bakersville; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Maryville First United 
Methodist Church. Revs. Larry Carroll and Dan Moore officiated. Burial 
followed in Grandview Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. 
until the service hour Saturday at the church. Memorial donations may be 
made the Maryville First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station 
Road, Maryville, TN 37803, or to Blount Memorial Hospital Hospice, 1095 
E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37804.
