Now calling into mind the mortality of my body and being sensible that a dissolution is fast approaching do therefore make and ordain this instrument of writing to be my last will and testament revoking all others which may have been heretofore so written. Now as respects such worldly estate as it has been pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and bequeath and do hereby dispose of the same in the manner, form, and substance as follows, Viz. First of all my will is that all my personal property of every kind be sold by my executors herein mentioned to the best advantage either private or public as they may deem best and most advisable, immediately after my death, and the money arising from the sale thereof to be used for the payments of all my just debts and legacies, and the residue of the mone Second, I give and bequeath to my grandchildren which are now or may here after be born to my daughter Nancy Snider, all the land belonging to me of the tract of land where I now live including the mill and all the low grounds and water as high up the creek as Bains live, by estimation twenty acres more or less, for the purpose of supporting them together until the youngest child arrives at the age of twenty one years, and at that time I allow all the land, mill and everything appertaining thereto to be sold by my executors or their successors to the best advantage and equally divided amongst the children of my daughter Nancy Snider as afore said to be to them their heirs and assigns forever, and my will is also that my wife Sarah Casner together with my daughter Nancy Snider and my son-in-law Thomas Snider shall have their support on the above mentioned premises for the above mentioned time; and provided that my wife Sarah Casner does not cease to live on the above mentioned premises I shall make no furth Third. And I have a number of other children which was born of my wife Sarah Casner who had not yet been mentioned in this will because I have long since given them all that I intended to give them and more to each individual than I am able to give in this will to those legatees herein mentioned who have received nothing heretofore of me. Nevertheless as a testimony of my esteem and regard for my children I give and bequeath to each of them twenty five cents, Viz. to Polly Brown, Sarah Tucker, Betsy Cline, Sebba Robinson, Isaac Casner, Jacob Casner, and Peggy Mathews the twenty five cents to be paid out of the money arising from the sale of my personal property as afore said and if they or either of them refuse to receive the twenty five cents it will remain for purposes before mentioned and applied to that use which is for the purpose of deeding the above mentioned land of seventy acres more or less including the mill. Fourth and last, I nominate constitute and appoint my trusty friends Johnston Jones, Aaron Hackney both of the County of Blount and State of Tennessee as afore mentioned as executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four and of the Independence of the United States of America the forty eighth.
