All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Robin Marshall robin_marshall@urscorp.com November 27, 2007, 2:59 pm Source: Microfilm Written: May 24, 1848 JAMES ENDSLEY Will State of Tennessee Blount County May 24th 1848 In the name of God Amen I JAMES ENDESLEY of the County and State aforesaid being weak of body but of sound mind and disposing memory and aware of the certainty of my disolution I make and ordain this my last will and testament in the following manner Viz 1st I commit my spirit to God who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it was taken thereto rest to the resurrection being fully aspersed that then it will be raised and remitted to my soul of the worldly substance with which the lord in his kind providence has blessed me I make the following disposition 2nd That my funeral expenses and all my just debts be paid 3rd I bequeath to my beloved wife SARAH ENDSLEY the plantation on which I live her life time or during her widow hood and at her death to be equally divided between my three sons Viz JOHN ENDSLEY JAMES A. ENDSLEY and WILLIAM MCGALLIART ENSDLEY, JOHN ENDSLEY to have the mare and colt and Mother DEBORAH ENDSLEY to have the choice of the rest of the horses JOHN ENDSLEY is to furnish WILLIAM MCGALLIART ENDSLEY with a horse three or four years old when he and WILLIAM is twenty one years old and JAMES A ENDSLEY is to have choice of the rest the boys is to have two steers for oxen for the use of the farm to remain on the farm 4th my wife to have three cows and calves and all the sheep one sow and pigs six of the best stock hogs and all of the house hold and kitchen furniture tow pair of arm geers and all of the farming utensils also two saddles that belong to the farm I allow my wife to have my library of books to have and to hold them during her natural life or widow hood and at hir death to be equally divided among all the children. 5th I bequeath to my daughter REBECCA J ENDSLEY one horse worth forty dollars one cow and calf worth ten dollars one bed stead and furniture worth fifteen dollars one hog worth one dollar one sheep worth one dollar one side saddle worth twelve dollars this is the amount I have given to REBECCA ENDSLEY and all that I allow her 6th I will and bequeath to my daughter DEBERAL ENDLEY one horse worth forty dollars one cow and calf worth ten dollars one sted and furniture worth fifteen dollars one hog worth one dollar one sheep worth one dollar three dollars worth of kitchen furniture one spinning wheel worth four dollars one side saddle worth twelve dollars 7th After my decease I allow all the rest of my property to be sold and all my just debts be paid 8th I also appoint JOHN WALKER and HENRY H.C.
