All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Robin Marshall robin_marshall@urscorp.com November 27, 2007, 2:57 pm Source: Microfilm Written: 1837 FRANCIS JONES Will I FRANCIS JONES of the County of Blount and State of Tennessee being somewhat advanced in age but of sound mind and disposing memory and being desirous to dispose of my land and property in the manner following to wit First my will is that all of my just debts funeral charges be paid I will unto my wife ANN all of my estate both real and personal during her natural life and after her death I will unto my son JAMES that part of my old tract lying south of the ridge to be divided by a line to commence on the line that was formerly between and my son FRANCES and is run a straight line with the ridge so as to include the old cotton path until it intersects the opposite line. The balance of my land my will is that it be equally divided between my son RICHARD THOMSON and my daughter REBECCA provided she remain single but if she should marry the whole of it is to be left to said R THOMPSON also my will is that the said RICHARD THOMSON pay to my son THOMAS twenty five dollars which is to be his portion I also will unto my daughter REBECCA one cow one bureau one wheel one chest and one bed and furniture I will unto my grand son WILLIAM RUFUS HANNA one horse worth fifty dollars and saddle and bridge worth seventeen dollars, I will unto my daughter JANE ELIZABETH SARAH RACHEL ANN and MARY and my sons WILLIAM and FRANCIS one dollar each the balance of my estate if there should be any my will that it be equally divided between my daughters lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my brothers JAMES JONES and my wife ANN my executor and executrix of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills and testaments hereinafter made by me witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eleventh day of the ninth month in the year of our lord one thousand sight hundred thirty seven.
