THOMAS JONES Will



To all whom these presents may come know yet that I THOMAS JONES SENIOR of the 

county of Blount and State of Tennessee being weak of body but of perfect and 

disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body do make 

ordain and constitute this my last will and testament in form and manner 

following Viz 1st It is my will that my just debts an funeral expenses be paid 

out of my personal estate 2nd I give and bequeath unto my sons FRANCES JOHNSON 

SAMUEL JOHN and JOSEPH three dollars each to be paid by my executors after 

named out of my personal estate 3rd I give and bequeath unto the children of 

my son THOMAS deceased three dollars to be equally divided amongst them and to 

be paid by my executors out of my personal estate 4th I give and bequeath unto 

my son JAMES JONES and daughter JANE JONES my plantation whereon I now live 

they giving my beloved wife a comfortable living out of it during her natural 

life to them their heirs and assigns forever to be equally divided between 

them 5th the residue and remainder of my personal estate I give and bequeath 

unto my son JAMES and daughter JANE JONES to be equally divided between them 

6th I hereby constitute and appoint my son JAMES JONES executor to this my 

last will and testament and do hereby _____ and revoke all former will or 

wills by me made and constitute this and this only as my last will and 

testament in witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this 18th 

day of the 1st month 1823.
