THOMAS LEWIS Will



Know all men by these presents that I THOMAS LEWIS of the county of Blount and 

state of Tennessee being of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my 

last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me made at any time 

or in any manner First I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be 

paid as soon after my decease as possible out of any moneys that I may die 

possessed of or may first come into the hands of my executors 2d to my 

affectionate and beloved wife ANN LEWIS I give the mansion house we now reside 

in and a good and sufficient support off of the farm whereon I now reside 

during the term of her natural life with good beds and bedding and other house 

hold and kitchen furniture in quantity sufficient for her decent support also 

the use of a suitable horse beast for her to go or come on during her life 3d 

To KEZIA LEWIS widow and relict of my deceased son HENRY LEWIS I give and 

bequeath the peace or parcel or tract of land I purchased from AARON COPPACK 

during her widowhood it being the land whereon she now resides and at the 

expiration of her widowhood or my son HENRYS youngest heir arrives at the age 

of twenty one years then they equally divide the land or sell it and equally 

divide the proceeds between the children of my deceased son namely ELIZABETH 

ANN NARCISSA CAROLINE THOS CALVIN WILLIAM MALHON and MARY LEWIS they being all 

the sons and daughters of my deceased son HENRY 4th to my daughter NAOMI MILLS 

I give one feather bed and one milk cow 5th to my son SAMUEL LEWIS I give and 

bequeath the sum of fifty dollars 6th to my daughters SUSAN and MARY MACY and 

JOANNA PEARCE I give and bequeath to each of them the sum of one dollar only I 

having portioned them heretofore 7th I give and bequeath unto my son WILLIAM 

LEWIS the plantation I now live on also the one lying adjoining it purchased 

of THOMAS TUCK SR with all my lands not disposed of heretofore together will 

all my personal property that is not heretofore in this will disposed of at my 

decease 8th and lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved wife ANN LEWIS and 

my son WILLIAM LEWIS executrix and executor of this my last will and testament 

in testimony I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of 

the second month (February) in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight 

hundred and forty seven in the presence of us JOHN HACKNEY SR. JAMES H.
