Jeremiah was mustered into Company G 5th Regiment of TN infantry at Camp Pine Knot on May 21, 1862. He enrolled for a period of 3 years. He mustered out in Nashville TN on May 15, 1865. He held the rank of Corporal and Private. Jeremiah died on November 12, 1885. Jeremiah's widow, Narcisus Benton Triplett filed for Widow's Pension. A number of Affidavits accompany the application. I would be happy to share them with anyone interested. =========================== State of Tennessee County of Bradley On this 3rd day of February 1892, personally appeared before me, a J.P. in and for the County and State aforesaid Narcis Triplett a resident of Cleveland in the County of Bradley and State of Tennessee aged 64 years who being duly sworn, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the Pension provided by the Act of Congress approved july 14, 1862. That she is the widow of Jeremiah Triplett who was a Private in Company G commanded by Capt. M.H. Andrew in the 5th Regiment of Tennessee Vols in the War of 1861; that her maiden name was Narcis Benton and that she was married to said Jeremiah Triplett on or about the 19th of August 1843 in the County of Bradley amd State of Tennessee by Amos Brinner JP and that she knows of no record evidence of said marriage it being destroyed by fire. She further declares that said Jeremiah Triplett her husband, died at home, in the State of Tennessee on or about the 12th day of November, 1885 of disease of liver and kidneys. She also declares that she has remained a widow ever since the death of said Jeremiah Triplett and that she has not in any manner been engaged in or aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States; and she hereby appoints Nathan Bickford as her lawful Attorney, with power of substitution and authorizes him to present and prosecure this claim.
