Boston, KY on March 10, 1862 (March 24, 1862) Honorably discharged at Nashville March 24, 1865 Commander Arehavle Myers, and Joseph A. Cooper. Disability: Gunshot wound of right thigh, battle near Kennesaw Mountains, GA. Several months hospital at Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville, TN. After wound Guard duty at Hospital. Entered as John Smiday in Hospital. Absent wounded: return July 1864. Wounded since May 14, 1864. In 1924 disability listed as: Scatis Rheumatism, Catarrh of head, and severe heart trouble, requires constant attendance at this time. Other service Brownlow's Milita. (I question before 1850?)(These names match what my great grandmother told me.) Their Mother died about 1859-1860. Lived 1850-1860 at or near Jacksboro, TN.
