Newcomb died Friday night, January 13 in a Knoxville hospital where she had been taken. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. R.T. Lyons of Knoxville and one son, Ernest W. Newcomb of LaFollette. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:30pm from West Emory Church. The Rev. J.L. Seale of LaFollette in charge of the services Burial was in the West Emory cemetery following the services. Pallbearers were James DeLaney, Luther DeLaney, Alex DeLaney, Joe DeLaney, Carl DeLaney and P.W. Hearon. Page 4 Ben White Ben White, a nineteen year old young man, brother to Pete White of College Hill, and Lewis White of Mt. Nash, Ky. His mother also lives at Mt. Nash, died in a Nashville hospital Friday. The body was sent here Saturday morning. The funeral was at one o'clock at Cedar Hill Church Sunday and he was laid to rest by his father in the Gross graveyard. During the funeral great excitement prevailed in the church for a few minutes when Re. R.W. Cooper who had read a chapter and prayer had been offered and had started to preach when he suddenly became ill in the pulpit and was carried from the church to a waiting car which took him to his home.
