J.C. Davis Called By Death Respected Minister of the Baptist Church Died in Knoxville Hospital May 15. Rev. J.C. Davis was stricken with appendicitis on last Thursday and was taken to Lincoln Memorial Hospital at Knoxville on Saturday. His condition was such that the physicians did not think it best to operate. He died Sunday morning at 10 o’clock. The remains were brought back to LaFollette and interment was made at Davis Chapel. Rev. Davis was forty-two years old and had been a minister in the Baptist Church for years. He was loved by all who knew him. His passing is considered a great loss to the community in which he lived, but his noble work will live long after his body has returned to dust. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn the lost of husband and father.
