John Martin (aka John Dalton Martin) was born in August 15, 1872 in Knox 
County, Kentucky to Valentine "Cubb" George Martin II, and Rachel Ann Keck.

Lucy Johnson, (aka Lucy Frances Johnson) was born in February 14, 1872 in Knox 
County, Kentucky, to John Johnson and Elizabeth Smyth.

After this marriage John and Lucy Martin became the parents of:
1. Rachel Ellen Martin b: 27 SEP 1891 in Gray, Knox, Kentucky
2. David Radford Martin b: 15 DEC 1893 in Gray, Knox, Kentucky
3. James Parker Martin b: 16 JAN 1896 in Knox, Kentucky
4. Charlie Martin b: 15 DEC 1898 in Knox, Kentucky
5. Creed Dalton Martin b: 26 MAY 1901 in Knox, Kentucky
6. Chester Arthur Martin b: 24 SEP 1903 in Knox, Kentucky
7. Samuel A. Martin b: 19 JUN 1906 in Knox, Kentucky
