CANNON COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - Warren Cummings to Stephen Wilson, 3 Feb 1860 ----¤¤¤---- Cannon Co. Deed Bk N-298 Warren Cummings to Stephen Wilson Whereas one W.J. Hale received a judgement for the sum of two hundred & fifty nine dollars & 94 cents & cost of _____ on the 3rd day of February 1860 before F. Coleman Esqr against John Herriman & Stephen Herriman and whereas afterwords to wit on the 30th day of November 1860 there was ______ under the hand and seal of F. Coleman justice as aforesaid a writ of ______ which was placed in the hands of J. Morrison Dept Sheriff which was levied on the land of defendant Stephen Herryman on the 17th day of December 1860 Containing by estimation Seventy-five acres in the County of Cannon Tennessee District No.6 Bounded as follows to wit; On the South by the land of B. Fugett on the east by the land of Word & Pinkerton on the North by the land of Budget Word On the west by the land of Westley Herryman and whereas to wit on the 12th day of February 1861 plaintiff moved to Circuit Court to _____said land to satisfy said judgement & cert which was done and an order of said issued by the clerk of the circuit court for the said county on the 3rd day of March 1861 which came to my hands as sheriff of Cannon Co. and after having advised and given notice according to law I did offer the said tract of land at public sale at the court house door of said county on the 3rd day of June 1861 agreeably to said advertisements and notices and one W.J. Hale buy the highest bidder the same was struck off to him at the price of two hundred and ninety- six dollars & 79 cents the same ___ to me in hand paid the highest bid said J.W. Hale having sold and transferred his bid on said land to Stephen Wilson and gave him an order to me as Shff to make him a deed to said land. Therefore in consideration of the premesese? I do transfer and convey to the said Stephen Wilson and his heirs forever all the right and title of the said Stephen Herriman to the said tract of land of seventy five acres for the consideration of two hundred & ninety six dollars to me paid as aforesaid to have and to hold the same unto the said Stephen Wilson his heirs and _____ in as full and ample manner as I sheriff aforesaid can or ought to convey the same but no further or otherwise.
