To Wit, State of Tennessee Cannon County In obediance to the Statutes of said State in such cases made and provided I have this day proceeded to take and State a settlement with Alexander McKnight Executor of Knox Armstrong dec'd from the 24th of June 1847 to July the 20th 1849. And on examination I find him chargable with the following amount due on his last annual settlement To Wit, Amount then due was $391.00 Amount off a balance of a security debt paid for William Reynolds which is Received $ 7.62 Total amount $398.62 I also find him entitled to credits as follows to wit. No. 1 By amount allowed to said Executor for his services upto this date $ 10.00 2 By clk fees for this settlement is $ 2.50 Leaves a Balance of the Principal is $386.12 Interest on that amount up to this date is $ 23.16 Total Liability is $409.28 Credit By amount due to Samuel W. Armstrong one of the legal heirs of the said decedent according to the provisions of the will of the said decedent Due $ 24.00 Leaves a balance of $385.28 And there being three Legal heirs it will appear that there is due to each of them the sum of $128.42 2/3 cts Amount due to James P. Armstrong brought forward $128.42 1/2 Amount due to Samuel W. Armstrong is $185.53 Amount due to Sarah M. McKnight is $128.42 1/2 Amount paid out for her since his last settlement For Saddle & Bridle & Martingale Including ___ $ 18.81 Amount due to Sarah M. is $109.61 1/2 The said Executor also has in his possession the following papers which he received amongst the papers of Knox Armstrong deceased- 1st One Judgement on Moses Baum and Joseph J. Thomas Amount $ 62.95 Rendered 3 March 1842 2 One other Judgement on the same two men Rendered on the 3 March 1842 Amount $ 11.41 3 One note on James Thomas due the 28 May 1840 for $ 5.05 4 Also a Balance of a Receipt on the Chancery Clk at Murfreesborough against John L. Moore which papers are all on person which proved to be Insolvent $110.00 Alexander McKnight Excr which claims all the Legal heirs of the said decedent have an equal interest. Mianus Sheriff when amongst other things the proceedings were had. Samuel W. Armstrong a minor under the age of twenty one years this day came into court and chose James P. Armstrong as his guardian, Whereupon the said James P. Armstrong came into court and entered bond in the sum of Two Thousand dollars with James Green and Whony Wollard? His securities to discharge the duties as Guardian & which bond was aknowleged by all the parties thereto and received by the court and ordered to be recorded.
