Woods issued by the Commissioners of West Tennessee March 29th 1823 to James Adams for 453 acres - - - I have surveyed for James Adams four hundred and fifty three acres of land - Situated on Clear Creek a fork of Obion River in the fourth section of the third Range. Beginning on the South boun dary line of a survey made in the name of A. Shepherd for 285 2/3 acres Eighty poles East of the South west corner of the Same on the Stake in the low grounds of Clear Creek, Chesnut poplar hornbeam & maple pointers, running South 30 poles crossing sd Creek in all 130 poles to two white oaks thence west 60 poles crossing sd creek in all 240 poles to two post oaks in the East boundary of a Entry in the name of James Vaule for 200 acres thence north 52 poles to a Small Maple the North east corner of sd Vaule entry Thence west with the sd boundary of the same 127 poles a stake the north west corner of the same & in this East boundary of a 1000 acre survey in the name of S.
