Eighteen hundred and thirty four by & between Samuel BENTON of the County of Carroll & State of Tennessee for himself and agents of Jesse BENTON of the County of Shelby and State aforesaid of the one part and John MORGAN of the County of Carroll and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain sell and convey to the sd John MORGAN a certain tract of land lying and being in the County of Carroll on Sandy River running as follows (Viz) Beginning on the East side of Sandy River at the Southwest corner of a tract of land purchased by Wm HAMILTON from Samuel & Jesse BENTON thence running West Wm BLAIRs line to Wm PAGEs Southeast corner thence North with PAGEs line to L.F. ELLINs Southeast corner, thence with L.F. ELLINs East boundary line t! o Thos READs Southeast corner thence with READs East boundary line to Enoch HOWEYs Southeast corner, thence East to John HORNs line, thence with HORNs South boundary line to Robert JAMESONs line, thence along JAMESONs line to Wm MEDLOCKs Southeast corner, thence along MEDLOCKs line with its meanders to the public Perryville road thence still along MEDLOCKs line with its meanders to Wm HAMILTONs Northwest corner, thence along HAMILTONs line South to the beginning containing one hundred acres more or less and the said Samuel & Jesse BENTON doth hereby agree to defend the title of said land against all other claims and confirm the title to the said John MORGAN his heirs assigns forever.
